The original MacBook®, introduced in May of 2006, came with a 13.3-inch TFT
1280x900 LCD, 1.83 or 2.0 Intel Core Duo processor with 2 MB of level 2 cache, 512 MB of RAM
(up to 2 GB Supported) 64MB of Video RAM (Shared), 10/100/1000 Base-T Ethernet, Airport Extreem®,
iSight®, Stereo Speakers, Micrphone, Combo drive (Optional SuperDrive), Remote Control,
Dual USB® ports, Mini-DVI port, FireWire Port, Headphone jack, and was offered in colors of
Black or White.
In November of 2006, the MacBook® (Late 2006) was introduced. This model had the same
features as the previous models, except that it used the Core2 Duo processor. The 2.0 GHz Models
had 4 MB of level 2 cache and 1GB of RAM standard. Other features are the same as the previous
models.
In May of 2007, the MacBook® (13-inch Mid 2007) Model was introduced. This model
was only offered with a 2 or 2.16 GHz processor with 4MB of level 2 cache, and 1GB of RAM standard
on all models. The 2 GHz model had a combo drive, and the 2.16 GHz had an 8x SuperDrive.
The current line, the MacBook® (Late 2007, 2.2/2.0Ghz), was introduced in November of
2007. In addtion to the processor speed increase, the system buss is now running at 800 MHz.

All MacBooks are hard to work on. RAM and hard drives
are user-installable, but most other repairs require major disassembly. Few parts are
interchangeable between the various models.
